Overview

FanIQ ("the App") is an AI-powered NFL analytics tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

We do not collect personal data. The App does not require account creation, login, or any personal information to function.

• No personal information: no name, email, phone number, or address is collected.
• No location data: the App does not access your device's location.
• No advertising: there are no ads and no ad-tracking identifiers.
• No tracking across apps or websites: the App does not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

To understand which features are used and to fix bugs, the App collects a small set of anonymous events through PostHog, a third-party analytics service. These events are not linked to your identity and contain no personal data.

Specifically, we collect:

• App opens and screen views (e.g. which tab is being viewed).
• The content of the questions or queries you type in chat, and the App's structured interpretation of them (for example, which players or teams, stats, and filters your query referenced), along with which AI provider/model was used.
• Errors and crashes (error name and screen, never your input or API key).
• Standard non-identifying device context (app version, OS version, device model, language, timezone).

We do not collect: your name, email, IP address (PostHog is configured to discard it), advertising identifiers, the generated answers or results the App shows you, or your API keys. These analytics events are anonymous: they are not linked to an account and are not tied to a real-world identity.

This data is used solely to improve the App. It is not sold or shared with third parties beyond PostHog acting as our analytics processor.

Connecting a Fantasy League (optional)

FanIQ offers an optional feature that lets you connect a Sleeper, ESPN, or Yahoo fantasy football league to personalize your experience. If you don't connect a league, none of the data described below is created. This feature only ever reads your own league; it cannot make any changes on your behalf (no lineup changes, no add/drops, no trades) on any platform.

• Sleeper: the App stores your Sleeper user ID in the encrypted Keychain on your device. It is used only to fetch your own leagues directly from Sleeper's public API, straight from your device. It is never sent to our servers or included in analytics.
• ESPN: the App stores your ESPN session cookies in the encrypted Keychain on your device. They are used only to fetch your own ESPN league directly from ESPN, straight from your device. They are never sent to our servers.
• Yahoo: Yahoo sign-in works differently because Yahoo requires server-side authentication. The App sends a one-time Yahoo authorization code to our secure backend, which exchanges it for a Yahoo access token. That token is stored on our server (in an encrypted secrets store, not on your device) and is used only to fetch your own Yahoo league data on your behalf, read-only. Your device never stores a Yahoo token.

For all platforms, the App reads only your own league: your roster, the league's scoring settings, your current matchup, and available free agents. Basic connected-league information (the league's name and ID, and which league is active) is stored on your device only. Connect/disconnect actions and basic counts (such as how many leagues you connected) are logged as anonymous analytics events, the same as described above; we never log your credentials, tokens, or the contents of your roster or league.

You can disconnect a fantasy league at any time from Settings. Disconnecting deletes the stored Sleeper ID or ESPN cookies from your device's Keychain immediately, and for Yahoo, deletes the stored token from our server.

How the App Works

FanIQ stores an NFL statistics database locally on your device. When you ask a question, the App uses an AI model to generate a SQL query that runs against the local database. Your questions are sent to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) using your own API key to generate the query, but no personally identifiable information is included in these requests.

Third-Party Services

The App communicates with these categories of third-party services:

• AI providers (OpenAI and/or Anthropic): to process your natural language questions. Only the text of your question and the database schema are sent. Your API key is sent directly from the App to these providers; we never see it.
• PostHog: for the anonymous analytics described above.
• Sleeper, ESPN, and Yahoo: only if you choose to connect a fantasy league, as described above, to read your own league data.

Data Storage

All NFL statistics data is stored locally on your device. Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted at rest) and never leave your device except when sent directly to the AI provider you've configured.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The anonymous analytics described above are not linked to any individual user, child or otherwise.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
