Lil'Jordan Humphrey
WR · Broncos
Depth WRs almost never last 7 seasons — most flame out after 2-3 roster cuts. Humphrey's survival across 4 franchises shows he occupies a specific niche (red-zone body, special teams contributor) that teams repeatedly value.
7 NFL seasons, 4 teams, 75 career catches — a textbook depth-WR survivor.

A UDFA out of Texas in 2019, Humphrey has carved out 47 regular-season games across NO, NE, DEN and NYG. The career line: 75 catches, 926 yards, 8 TDs. The 2024 season in Denver was his career peak — 31 catches on 45 targets, 293 yards — by far his most usage.
He was released by the Giants midseason 2025 and returned to Denver, where he then made the playoff roster (caught a TD in the Divisional round vs Buffalo, his first career postseason score).

Why it matters. Depth WRs almost never last 7 seasons — most flame out after 2-3 roster cuts. Humphrey's survival across 4 franchises shows he occupies a specific niche (red-zone body, special teams contributor) that teams repeatedly value.
8 regular-season TDs on 75 catches — Humphrey scores once every 9.4 receptions.
SplitFor a depth WR, Humphrey's TD efficiency is unusually high: 8 TDs on 75 regular-season career catches = 10.7% TD rate. League WR average (2019–2025 regular season) sits at 7.7%. He's been used as a designed red-zone body — 6'4", 225 lbs — more than as a volume receiver.
His 3 TDs in 2023 (11 games, 13 catches) and 1 TD in 2025 across two teams reinforce the pattern: not many targets, but a meaningful share of them turn into points. Among 2019 UDFA WRs with 20+ regular-season games, his 10.7% TD rate is the highest in the class.
Why it matters. A WR who catches fewer than 15 passes a season but converts 1-in-9 for TDs is a specialist weapon — teams keep him around specifically for red-zone packages, not general receiving duties.
27.8% red-zone TD rate on 18 career targets — 6× better than his rate outside the 20.
AnomalyHumphrey career: red zone vs. rest of field
| Zone | Targets | TDs | TD% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inside 20 | 18 | 5 | 27.8% |
| Rest of field | 109 | 5 | 4.6% |
Humphrey is almost exclusively a red-zone asset. Inside the 20-yard line, he converts 5 TDs on 18 career targets (27.8%) — more than double the league WR average of 24.2% in that zone. Outside the 20, he scores on just 5 of 109 targets (4.6%) — pure depth contributor.
The gap between his red-zone (27.8%) and non-red-zone (4.6%) rates is 6× wider than the typical WR split, reflecting deliberate usage as a goal-line body. At 6'4", 225 lbs, he's one of the largest WRs on any roster he's occupied.
Why it matters. A WR whose entire value is compressed into 20 yards of field is a rare roster construction tool — he doesn't generate yards after catch or create separation, but he's nearly unguardable at the goal line for his QB.
Cut by the Giants in October 2025 — back in Denver by November, on the playoff roster by January.

Humphrey opened 2025 with the Giants (2 games, 10 targets, 4-55 line). Released after Week 7 — and his Week 7 game was against Denver. The Broncos signed him back in November, and by Week 15 he caught a TD vs Green Bay.
The arc closed with a TD in the Divisional Round at Buffalo (Week 20), his first career postseason score. For a player on his 4th NFL roster in 7 seasons, that's a survivor's resume.
Why it matters. Getting cut and re-signed by the same franchise you just played against — then making the playoff roster — is the kind of story that makes a depth WR memorable long after his career ends.
Highest TD rate among 2019 UDFA WRs: 10.7% — nearly double Jakobi Meyers' 4.9%.
Rare2019 UDFA WRs with 20+ reg-season games — TD rate ranked

|---|---|---|---|---|
| L.J. Humphrey | 47 | 75 | 8 | 10.7% |

| Scott Miller | 63 | 99 | 6 | 6.1% |
| Jakobi Meyers | 100 | 468 | 23 | 4.9% |
Among every WR from the 2019 undrafted free-agent class who has played 20+ regular-season games, Humphrey's 10.7% TD rate (8 TDs on 75 catches) leads the group — 0.7 points ahead of KaVontae Turpin and Ashton Dulin, and more than double the rate of the class's busiest receiver, Jakobi Meyers (4.9%).
Humphrey has the fewest receptions of any meaningful contributor in the group, but his 6'4", 225 lb frame has turned him into the pure red-zone body that other UDFA WRs in this class haven't been.
Why it matters. UDFA WRs survive on specialization — and Humphrey's TD efficiency shows he found one that teams actually pay for, even if his yardage totals stay modest.
